What constitutes healthy eating? It may be a simple question, but there’s definitely no simple answer. Your response will depend largely on where you fall in the food spectrum – from the banting brigade to the paleo platoon, the list of current eating plans are endless. Then there’s the issue of sustainability, defined as ‘those diets with low environmental impacts which contribute to food and nutrition security and to healthy life for present and future generations’ – as I said, no simple answer. It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of choices and information out there so the best advice is usually to practise moderation and to choose a few credible voices that cut through the dietary noise. If you’re wondering where to begin, below are three organisations and three individuals highly valued in the world of balanced and healthy eating – add them to your newsfeed for insight and inspiration.
